(Perma)Culture and Sanity
Permaculture is about much more than a bunch of cool new techniques. Permaculture is about learning to re-see, reestablish and work within the cycles of Nature that our modern minds have simply stopped seeing.
Once we recognize the natural cycles spinning around us all the time, how we relate to the natural world will change automatically. Conversely, until we begin to see Nature and its cycles more clearly, all the techniques in the world will not save us.
"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."
Max Planck, Nobel Prize-winning physicist
This process—leaving behind our culture's linear bias and learning to embrace a cyclical way of seeing and relating—is the underlying focus of this site.
Articles about a permacultural way of seeing are grouped in Zen Mind, Permaculture Mind and Culture, 'Sanity' and Mental Health.
